Collecting and using personal information

We are glad to have you stop by and visit us. As you visit we will not collect personal information about you unless you provide us that information voluntarily. Any non-public personal information that you may provide via our sites will be used solely for the purpose stated on the page where it is collected—generally this would occur during the final steps of a purchase.  FatRatEnterprise.com will not sell, license, transmit or disclose this information outside of FatRatEnterprise.com and its affiliated companies unless a) expressly authorized by you, b) necessary to enable FatRatEnterprise.com contractors or shipping agents to perform certain functions for us, or c) required or permitted by law.  With great care and regard, we will disclose the information consistent with applicable laws and regulations.

By “personal information,” we mean to be data which is unique to the individual.  It is inclusive of name, address, Social Security number, e-mail address, or telephone number. From time to time, we may request personal information from you either via secure email or by phone in order to deliver requested materials to you, respond to questions, or deliver a product or service.

FatRatEnterprise.com appreciates your comments or questions about our website, products, or other services and have provided e-mail links underneath the Contact Us menu bar item for that purpose. Our staff will respond to your comments and questions just as quickly as possible.

Please note that your e-mail, like most, non-encrypted Internet e-mail communications, could be viewed by other Internet users while in transit to us. This is a common security concern for most the web. For that reason it is a prudent choice to not include information you consider confidential in the body of the email. On the pages of the FatRatEnterprise.com website where confidential information is requested to finalize a purchase we have made special provisions to secure this information and will provide you with appropriate instructions on how to send us, or our banking provider, such information.

Additional Information: "cookies" and "tags"

FatRatEnterprise.com does collect certain information that does not identify you personally like most sites on the web also participate in. Â This data gives "usage data," such as the number of visitors we receive or what pages are visited most often. This data is used to help deliver better services and web usability to our customers for their convenience.

The carrier of this data is what is commonly known as a “cookie”. A "cookie" is a bit of data that a website can send to your browser when you visit a website. It is not a computer program and has no ability to read data residing on your computer nor can the “cookie” instruct it to perform any step or function. The usefulness of this “cookie” is to assign a unique data element to each visitor so the website is able to recognize repeat users, track usage patterns and better serve, and more quickly service, the returning visitor to the site. There is also what is known as JavaScript programming running on FatRatEnterprise.com’s website.  JavaScript can produce what is commonly known in the commercial ecommerce industry as "client-side page tagging".  This “tagging” allows code on each page to be written with certain information about the page and its visitor to a log when that page is loaded by your web browser. This technique is also common in web use. "Tagging" is limited to providing information about the page requested and the configuration of your browser. It does not read any of your data files, or execute any additional programs. It will not extract any personal information about the customer like name or address. Disabling JavaScript in your browser stops “tagging” but that may also disable the functionality of the pages in the website and make navigation difficult.
