“We acknowledge your service to duty. We openly and warmly appreciate what you have given to each and every one of us.”
A community based donation project repairing active, and returning, service men and women’s vehicles in a joint-thank you for their dedicated service to our country. Below Congressman Thompson, Humboldt Native and Eureka High 2008 graduate Travis McGahuey, Roby Q., and Matt Ruchong stand in front of Travis' repaired vehicle in our latest Free Good Deeds project. Roby raised a substantial donation on his own to complete this project and was amply rewarded with gratitude from Travis and company.

Matt is a highly experienced and recognized expert in vehicle restoration, customization, and after-market performance parts installation. Matt assesses the project, list of parts, services, and labor needed to begin soliciting donations of goods, labor, and/or funds for the project. Matt donates his own labor and the resources of the Fat Rat shop.
As the final act, the family and service person along with the local media are assembled for a public thank you ceremony with the final project presented. The community thank you for your service is a very nice way to be able to put actions to words and say, “We acknowledge your call to duty and we openly and warmly appreciate what you have given to each and every one of us.”

ommunity donations, news of the Corey Johnson project has spread and the demand to continue into new projects has been overwhelming. Now the time has arrived to begin the next project. A 91’ Ford Ranger donated but in need of repairs. Once repairs are complete, for free, the Ford will be given away via drawing to an active duty personnel in need. One very fortunate soldier will soon be driving away a decked-out, restored, rig from their community as a great thank-you for all they given in service of our needs.
The Free Good Deeds Project doesn’t just feel good—it does good, for everyone. It is a simple way to come together and show, especially during difficult times, that we all stand together in creating a healthy community for all citizens and are actively interested and involved in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much. Free Good Deeds is an excellent way to showcase the real actions and events your business gets behind on the real “people” level. We’ve put together some ideas in the column to your right with possibilities for your company, as well as individual interest, to get involved with the Free Good Deeds Project. As always we are also open to other ideas which will meet your needs as well.
We, at the Free Good Deeds Project, are urging you to join us with your product, product discount, or monetary donation to help make this Good Deed come true. Matt is available by phone at 707 725-0600 or email.
